Hello fans, friends and family 🙂
I am back with more news for you! I just finished my US tour with my Freedom Trio and it was a blast.
We did shows in New York, Marlboro, Portland, Santa Fe, Los Angeles and Eugene with Myron Walden, Leo Genovese (on the first half) and Ruslan Sirota on the second half of the tour. These guys are all incredible and they all brought their magic to my music! I could not be more happier. The Ferenc Nemeth Freedom Trio represent musicians from all over the world and we (individually and collectively) believe that it doesn’t matter what race, belief, culture, religion, color or whatever you have, what matters is humanity. See, we may not know where we came from or we may not know where we are going, but right now, we are here in this planet for a limited time and we are all humans. Thats the only thing that it matters. And we should treat each other with patience, without prejudice, with love, caring and believing in each other. Through the magic of music I hope I can transmit this. The music that I’ve been writing is influenced by all kind of cultures, people, countries from Africa to South America, through the Middle East, Asia, India and of course my own country, Hungary. People on my shows often describe that during the concert they felt like they’ve traveled around the world. If you have not been in one of our shows, I hope one day I can have the pleasure to entertain you as well 🙂 This summer I’ve toured with my band around Europe and played on some major festivals with 4 different trios, starting with Wolfgang Muthspiel and Tzumo Arpad, then Lionel Loueke and Chris Cheek, followed by Chris Potter and Gilad Hekselman and last but not least with Chris Cheek and Mike Moreno. It was probably my best summer in my life! Here is a short clip from one of our shows on the Nisville Jazz Festival:
These last few days, I’ve been back in the studio, this time mixing my upcoming album with my trio of Greg Tardy and Tzumo Arpad. The CD should come out soon and in November we have yet another tour in Europe and I am super excited! I am also preparing an online MasterClass series and from October I am going to teach at the University in Siena, every month for 3 days! If you are nearby, please come and say hello 🙂 And so I keep myself busy :)) Well, I guess that’s it for now, but stay in touch and hopefully see you around the world soon!
